10 Week CSA Program Starts Aug. 21 – Local, organic food

Geauga Family Farms CSAGeauga Family Farms is one of the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs in the United States. We are proud and honored to work with their website.

Jerie and I split a single share, and it pretty much meets our typical fresh vegetable consumption needs for four people. Every week is exciting because every week is different as it depends on what is available from the farms at the time. This week's share included a small round watermelon, peaches, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green beans, basil, green pepper, zucchini, cucumber and leaf lettuce. I also ordered peanut butter cookies and blueberry jam, "extra" items

A single share costs $20 a week, which is worth it as much of the produce is organic (vegetables are, fruit might not be.) We are especially valuing the wonderful local tomatoes as they tend to be much better than what one might typically find in a grocery store.

GFF is offering a new 10-week share program starting the week of August 21, so it is still possible to benefit from the local land's bounty with Geauga Family Farms. Pickup locations are available in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga Counties.

The deadline for applying for the 10 week program is August 15. You may apply online or download a pdf and fill it out and mail it in.
